What I hate about psychics!
Yes you read that right. I’m known as being a psychic (and a pretty expensive one too) so why am I saying I hate them?
Well I don’t hate all psychics, just the ones who behave like this….
In the past few months I have been asked to get involved in several cases where a psychic has disempowered a client. The client has contacted me in a state of anxiety or near panic desperate for help.
The cases have ranged from a minor negative prediction that was completely at odds with what the client would choose to a full blown psychic and psychological manipulation that cost the client over £300k.
One person was told that their husband had “a wandering eye”, would have an affair in the next month and they would be divorced within a 18 months. The only good news from this reading was that she would “come into some money” but that it would probably be as a result of the divorce settlement.
Another woman contacted me in a dreadful panic as a psychic had called her up to tell her that she was in danger, needed to book a reading (for $500) in order to find out what the danger was. When she did so apparently her husband was trying to kill her and she was advised to get her life insurance in order.
It’s as much psychology as psychic
The worst kinds of cases are where a psychic completely takes control over the client’s life. They become involved in all major decisions and “guiding” them to make choices determined by the psychic. Every decision, from choice of partners, whether to get divorced where to invest their money. I have known of several psychics who have told clients to file for divorce, where to invest their money and some have ended up being shareholders or on the board in return for their “advice”
Now why would someone so this? How can this happen? Surely people have more sense?
Well actually they do, that’s why they eventually “wake up”, reject the psychic and seek outside help.
The technique for gaining this level of trust and control over the client is subtle, a slow seduction if you like. It starts with the psychic finding the sore spots, the problems, fears, dreams and anxieties of the client. The psychic then plays on these and uses this to psychologically manipulate the client. The process is a form of drip, drip, drip brainwashing. It is as much psychology as it is psychic.
Eventually the client’s free will is completely enslaved by the psychic to the extent that they can’t decide whether to have marmite or jam on their toast without a consultation.
Hope
Is there hope? Of course there is. At some point the psychic crosses a line. Their own greed, ego and hunger for power takes over and they over step the mark. The psychic will just push that bit too far. At this point the client wakes up. It’s as if they step out of trance.
This is often a time of great turmoil for the victim as the person they had put in complete trust suddenly becomes their betrayer. They feel at foolish, betrayed, traumatised, embarrassed and often don’t know where to turn.
My recent experiences with such psychics have saddened and angered me, but they have renewed my love for my own work.
I set up my business, Psycademy, to offer a professional standard training for psychics. So that they could command more respect, and would only ever empower and never disempower their clients. My programme covers psychology as well as spiritual principles and particularly the laws of karma, and the free will.
Is it now time to insist that psychics be registered, and trained properly. You can’t practice as a doctor unless you’re registered. Should we be able to have abusive psychics “struck off”?
A final note. I do appreciate that the vast majority of psychics are very well intentioned and compassionate people. They a completely dedicated to helping others.
Most never intentionally behave in a way that is disempowering for their clients. Some psychics disempower their clients, not through malice but through lack of understanding of psychological and spiritual principles.
Fortunately it is the rare few psychics who behave in ways that are pure evil, but unfortunately they do exist.

How is a Spiritual Initiation Like a Jet Engine?
The other day I asked my followers on twitter what I should write about on my next blog, and one of my graduates suggested jet engines. Which is ironic that jets have now been grounded due to volcanic ash!
So here it is: A spiritual blog all about jet engines.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m an engineer. I have a PhD and first degree in Mechanical Engineering. The final year thermo students were set loose on the gas turbine engine, with an experiment to measure its efficiency and exhaust gasses.
I remember the start up procedure. Before the fuel could be injected and the big red “IGNITE” button pressed, the turbine needed to be spinning fast enough. This was done by injecting compressed air. When it reached exactly the right speed the fuel was pressurised, injected, and then the big red IGNITE button pressed. Then running under its own power the compressed air turned off.
Then engine would then run on its own and generate rather a lot of power and it was satisfyingly noisy.
Once a gas turbine engine is running it no longer needs the compressed air. It runs under its own steam. Only it’s not steam you understand – just to be technically precise here.
So what’s this geek engine talk got to do with spirituality?
Ok here’s the NON science part…
A common practice in spirituality is initiation which is also called atunement or energy activation.
Initiations and attunements are a fancy way of saying that someone helps you to start your own spiritual jet engine. The person who initiates you is the compressed air that gets your spiritual engine up to speed so that you can run under your own steam (or spiritual energy).
When we open up spiritually what actually happens is that we open up new channels in our neurology. These channels might be for energy, or for new thought processes. During an initiation your channels are opened when someone gives (or lends) you their spiritual energy to activate the channel. They give you their spiritual energy so you can bring your spiritual engine up to speed. Once it’s started, running and up to speed, you don’t need them anymore. I’ve been fortunate enough to receive initiations into many paths and disciplines. And even more significant to me I’ve had the great honour and joy to be asked by others to imitate them.
How to decide whether or not to be initiated?
At some point in your spiritual journey you will usually find yourself considering or being offered an initiation. And for some the question often arises “Am I ready?”
The answer to this is usually pretty simple, but we tend to make it complicated.
When you are ready usually one of two things happens.
- For some people they simply find themselves able to access more energy and power. When this happens it’s as if source energy has directly activated your circuits. This is fairly rare and is often linked to a traumatic event, which we do NOT recommend! Sometimes when the channels are open before you have the conceptual understanding of what is going on that in itself can be even more traumatic.
- More commonly (and safely) someone shows up in your life who offers to initiate you. In a traditional society it might have been a shaman or soothsayer offered to perform the ceremony when they deemed you ready. Nowadays it usually takes the form of a course or training being offered to you. Those who can initiate you have usually taken a further level of initiation that permits and enables them to do this just like a Reiki Master can perform attunements.
So if you feel that you are ready, why not head over to find out about our Spiritual prac 2010 training. It’s a whole year of initiations, attunements and activations, incorporating Reiki, shamanic, western mystery, Indian, tantric and high level energy symbols. And the advantage of these attunements is that unlike a real jet engine you won’t be grounded by volcanic ash!
And now I would like to offer you free instant access to our online intuition test. Find out which of your channels are open

Does your inner threshold repel potential clients?
If you are a coach or consultant when you’re working with a client you need to get right inside the clients problem or situation, whether it’s in their business or in their mind.
You need to “try on the problem” for yourself, you almost need to install it and “run” it as if it were your problem, just for a short while. And at the same time you manage to maintain that objective standpoint.
That way you can work out HOW it is a problem, what, specifically, is the problem and how can you solve it.
In order to facilitate your client’s transformation you need to bring this problem into your conscious awareness and “run” it as a problem for yourself. Almost all healing and therapies accept this is true on some level. Some are more overt about it than others.
Think about it like disc space on a pc. When your client comes to you – they up load all their problem files onto your system. If there is not enough space the level of healing you can facilitate is limited to the amount of “space on your hard drive”
So your own problems and mind clutter will limit the free capacity you have to take on your client’s problems.
You have an inner threshold above which you cannot run any more problems, even if it’s only temporarily for your client
Not only does this limit your ability to work with any current clients but it will actually repel potential new ones.
Your client or potential client knows unconsciously just how much capacity you have
Your client or potential client will know unconsciously if you have the capacity to “hold” them through their transformation. No matter how good your marketing is, or your sales, or how skilled you are. If your client senses on any level that you can’t handle their issues they will look elsewhere for a therapist or coach.
The difficulty is that they won’t ever be aware of this consciously. They will simply sense that you are just not the right person for them.
If they do come to you as a client you will only be able to work with them to the level that you have capacity. Again you may never know this because your client’s unconscious mind will protect them and you by keeping the full scope of the problem suppressed.
The result is either
- You won’t get that person as a client. They will simply go elsewhere, or…
- They will come to you, but will only address certain, or smaller issues. This means they will continue to look elsewhere for a coach or consultant.
Both of the above limit you and your business.
Conversely – when you DO have enough capacity. When you are healed and centred within yourself. When you continually clear your own stuff leaving plenty of space to temporarily take over their problems your clients will get the transformation they seek.
Your happy and healed clients will then go away feeling great and tell everyone else about it. Which is exactly what you want.
How do you raise this inner threshold?
Constantly work on finding and releasing your own personal blocks and problems. Get therapy and coaching yourself. This is why so many coaches and therapists working in the personal transformational business come to me. The clear their blocks, raise their threshold and go away to create massive income, and attract clients effortlessly.
What’s really holding you back?
Following the joy of watching this year’s spiritual practitioners begin to step into their greatness I happened to be chatting with one of the mums at the school bus stop. She was saying how much she would like to run her own business but couldn’t.
As she spoke and I listened, I listed in my head just how many limiting beliefs she had. They twisted round and round each other and even contradicted each other. I listened in astonishment as she gave me her excuses…
She couldn’t run the business she wanted to because:
- I’ve got 3 children (It’s alright for you you’ve only got 1)
- I have to wait till my youngest is at school
- I can’t do it now because of all the after school events
- I haven’t got the money
- I haven’t got the time
- My husband can’t help with the childcare
- There are so many people already doing what I want to do. I can’t compete with that.
On and on it went. And it was fascinating. The rules and limitations that people put in the way of their dreams.
What if all those things that we give as excuses, as reasons for NOT doing our dreams are the very reason why we SHOULD?
What if…
- “I’ve got 3 children” becomes “I want to do if FOR my children to set them an example that it’s important to follow our dreams”
- “I have to wait till my youngest is at school” becomes “now is the perfect time to start”
- “I can’t do it now because of all the after school events” becomes “Working for myself means I’ll be able to be flexible about when I work”
- “I haven’t got the money” becomes “I’ll be making more money”
- “I haven’t got the time” becomes “If I make more money I can pay someone to do the things I don’t’ like doing so I’ll have more time to do the things I want”
- “My husband can’t help with the childcare” becomes “when I’m successful enough my husband won’t have to work as hard so he can spend more time with the kids”
What if all the excuses we ALL have for why we can’t live our dreams are actually the reasons why we should.
It’s often said that beliefs create our reality, so start to allow yourself to believe something different. Use your excuses not to as reasons to.
Here is an exercise, and it’s one that most people don’t dare do…
- Think of something you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t yet (for whatever reason)
- List ALL (and I do mean ALL) the ‘reasons’ you have for NOT doing it. Keep listing and listing until you completely run out of reasons.
- Take each one in turn and think of how that excuse is actually a reason why you could, or should do that.
- Then go and take one small or large step towards making your dream happen.
Enjoy!
Until next time…
Lisa
